On International Men's Day
Hannah Arendt wrote that "The third world is not a reality, but an ideology.” I can probably do a little bit of super-positioning to describe the conventional patriarchy out there. That male superiority is not a birthright but a cancerous inculcation by society.
As a male, you are never born with any superiority. Rather the obnoxious society entrenches the patriarchy in you from the day you are born-they tell you to acquire macho behaviour, you get convinced that crying is a sign of weakness, doing make-up is feminine, you have to have abs to be attractive.
Meanwhile, you become a victim of patriarchy, if you peer through enough at this structure. You can’t cry, you become the ass to bear all the burden. And this society celebrates your plight, you become a slave to your male ego that is unnecessary.
I have seen people with the highest degrees being a douchebaggery macho, and again I have seen my friends and people from obscurantist background standing against patriarchy, taking down it to create a better environment for everyone. Just today, I have come to this line that- “On this Men's Day I wish that never for any reason someone will have to "Be a man" by
Kazi Mustafizur Rahman
vaiya. This describes a lot.International Men's Day is to identify worldwide to honour the men who are breaking the stereotype and making positive changes in society while raising awareness for issues faced by gender. The men of the society have also been the victims of patriarchy, matriarchy, norms, and mental health. If you think it's a counter to feminism, I feel sorry for you. It's an extension of feminism
Happy Men's Day to all the men standing for equality even in the jaw of patriarchal society and who have come out as protestors against it.
