Public conscience and law
Look at the Tufan Sarkar case, he has got bail. That must be frustrating!!
And why?Because the very victims changed their statements that go to the favor of the accused. Even if our women and children repression law have even section to hang the rapist. You shouldn't be astonished if Tufan Sarkar gets innocent in the end too. Unless the collective mentality is changed, it will continue to happen. Because the victims had to come to a settlement to save the girl's honor. That proves one important thing that if you can't discharge people's minds from the narrative that honor is subjected to the vagina. you really can't do anything even if you introduce a new section to brush fire the rapist even. Because already a quite strict law couldn't even fucking keep a rapist behind the bars,let alone justice.
Here is another thing, Tufan Sarkar's wife even joined in abducting the girl even after she got molested by Tufan. That's another indicator of our fucked up system. Hobbes said that the law is the public conscience. And it couldn't be any truer. Look at yesterday's incident. The girl managed to avoid the marriage. The same law.
It's really just public conscience that will define the efficiency of law. And we the people can do that.
